As I have charted the course of my personal and professional journey I have never felt the need to explain my decisions, choices nor justify them. If I am asked directly I will answer honestly.
It is true that many many assumptions were made about that journey by others that proved to be completely off track relative to my lived experience.
If only I were asked…….many situations could have been quite different.
It is a form of arrogance to assume that you know the inner workings of a human being.
Even after all my years of working intimately with others, I never assume that I know the answers nor the motivations and intentions of another human being.
I ask and listen deeply for understanding. It is a matter of respect. Lori
